CIG and NAPA Sign MOU to Strengthen Vietnam’s Civil Service Training
January 4, 2020

HANOI (Vietnam), 16 January 2020 — The Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) met with Vietnam's National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) on 16 January 2020 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both organisations. The MOU builds upon previous meetings between both organisations in August and September 2019, and aims to enhance civil service training quality and leadership development in Vietnam.

NAPA President Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan said
“I strongly believe that the MOU with CIG will provide the platform to strengthen NAPA’s capacity in training and research, the skills of the NAPA faculty, and the leadership and management skills of Vietnamese senior officials.”

In response, Executive Director of CIG Wu Wei Neng thanked NAPA and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam for their excellent support, and the Ministry’s endorsement of the key areas and priorities for collaboration between NAPA and CIG.

Following the signing of this MOU, NAPA and CIG will explore further collaboration in areas such as a new training programme for senior leaders, case studies on governance issues in Vietnam, training and skills development for NAPA faculty, as well as joint research on topics related to public governance and public policy.
