PUNJAB (INDIA), 18 NOVEMBER 2020 — The Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) is collaborating with India's Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion (Invest Punjab) to design and deliver the Investment Promotion Skills Development Programme from 18 November to 22 December 2020. The virtual programme supports the enhancement of investment promotion and management strategies, and improves the ease of doing business in the State of Punjab.
More than 20 investment promotion sector officers from Invest Punjab will be attending the programme on a weekly basis for a period of six weeks. These officers are responsible for developing investment strategies, identifying new investor leads, and promoting Punjab’s attractiveness as an investment destination. The training programme is designed to equip the officers with the skills and competencies required for lead generation, investment promotion and investment facilitation.
The programme is helmed by CIG’s resource experts, Mr Sonny Tan and Mr Steven Yeo. Both Mr Tan and Mr Yeo were formerly from the Economic Development Board in Singapore, and have extensive experience in developing investment promotion strategies and policies.
Addressing the programme participants from Invest Punjab during the opening ceremony, Mr Sumeet Jarangal, Assistant Chief Executive Officer (ACEO), said:
"I hope and I pray that this engagement which CIG and Invest Punjab is going to have over the course of time, is not only going to lead to investment for the State of Punjab, but ultimately bring about increased happiness and prosperity for every citizen of the State of Punjab.”
