Yogaananthan Theva
Head (Curriculum)
Yogaananthan is Head (Curriculum) at the Chandler Academy of Governance (CAG). He is responsible for curriculum research development, design, and building collaborative partnerships with public policy experts and practitioners locally and internationally.
Before joining CAG, Yogaananthan served in various capacities within Singapore's public sector, including as Assistant Director, International Policy at the Ministry of Social and Family Development (Singapore), where he developed policy strategies and collaborated with international bodies like ASEAN and the United Nations to enhance social welfare and public governance.
While at the National Trades Union Congress (Singapore), Yogaananthan led several projects, including the enhancement of legislation related to retirement adequacy, which focused on enabling middle-aged workers to build up adequate financial resources to retire. Additionally, he co-developed initiatives to improve the labour productivity of SMEs in Singapore using digital technology in production and supply chain management.
During his tenure at the National University of Singapore, Yogaananthan developed and taught political and economic history modules, earning the Faculty Best Teaching Award twice consecutively based on student feedback. Under the Chairman's leadership, Yogaananthan also served as a lead strategist in the Policy Group at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. In this role, he focused on fundamental research areas such as supply chain resilience, contributing to strategic studies that addressed regional security and economic challenges.
Yogaananthan holds an Honours Degree and a Master's Degree (Distinction) from the National University of Singapore, specialising in Political Science and Asian Studies.
