Nicholas Yee
Director (Global Partnerships) and Senior Deputy Director (Government Projects)

Nicholas is the Director of Global Partnerships and Senior Deputy Director of Government Projects at the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG). In this dual role, he leads CIG’s efforts to build meaningful partnerships with multilateral, international, and multi-country organisations, while also supporting the coordination and delivery of the Institute’s global portfolio of technical advisory projects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, Nicholas cultivates strategic relationships that advance CIG’s mission and strengthen public sector capabilities around the world.
With over 15 years of experience in public policy, government advisory, research, and consulting, Nicholas brings a deep commitment to effective governance and practical public sector innovation. Prior to joining CIG, he served as Senior Advisor at Indigenous Services Canada, where he led cross-jurisdictional partnerships in support of more than 20 federal economic development initiatives annually — spanning sectors such as critical minerals, renewable energy, forestry, tourism, and urban development.
Throughout his tenure in the Canadian federal public service, Nicholas held progressively senior roles from Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister to Deputy Director leading Canada’s International Assistance Envelope. He has developed deep expertise in Indigenous access to capital, federal procurement, natural resource development, and entrepreneurship — anchoring his work in collaborative, place-based approaches to complex policy and development challenges.
Nicholas holds a Master of Public Administration from Carleton University (Ottawa) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg.
