Mazlan Ahmad

Manager (Research and Publications)

Mazlan Ahmad is Manager (Research and Publications) at the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG). He is responsible for managing the Chandler Good Government Index report and Governance Matters, an annual practitioner-focused magazine featuring public-sector tradecraft from government leaders and experts globally. Mazlan also conducts, writes, and edits research for CIG’s publications, working with subject matter experts.    

Before joining CIG, Mazlan was a senior communications strategist for 4 years at global credit rating agency Moody’s Investors Service based in Melbourne, Australia. He developed communications content for the company’s Asia-Pacific region including writing and editing press releases, articles, and pitches for top industry awards. Mazlan also worked closely with the senior leadership team to prepare talking points, speeches, and presentations for regional and global executive leaders.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Mazlan was a senior editor for 14 years at global credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings, also based in Melbourne. In this role, Mazlan wrote articles mainly covering corporates, including the infrastructure, mining, and property industries in Asia-Pacific. He also edited thought-leadership research articles and press releases spanning leading global and regional entities from the government, subnational, financial institution, and corporate sectors across the region.

Mazlan holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Professional Accounting from Victoria University, and a Graduate Diploma in Digital Media from Deakin University. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore.
