South Africa’s National School of Government and CIG Strengthen Cooperation with Signing of MOU

Singapore, 22 March 2024 – The South Africa National School of Government (NSG) and Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 22 March 2024, thus formalising a partnership between two organisations that share common interests in public sector institution building and capability development in South Africa and other countries. The MOU will provide a solid foundation for both organisations to share knowledge and expertise, and enhance the quality of skills training for public sector officers and elected officials.

The signing ceremony was held at CIG’s office in Singapore during the NSG’s visit where representatives from both organisations engaged in fruitful discussions and explored synergies in curriculum development and programme design and delivery approaches.

The National School of Government, South Africa (NSG) is a national government department in South Africa, mandated with the responsibility of ensuring that public servants comply with the provisions of established legislation, regulations and systems, and can exercise proper discretion and innovation in solving routine and complex delivery problems. To this end, the NSG is tasked with ensuring that all public servants participate and complete education, training and development initiatives, as per relevant legislation and Cabinet directives.
