Championing Trusted Public Leaders in Punjab (India) with MGSIPA

INDIA, 24 FEBRUARY 2020 — The Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) and Punjab’s (India) Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) began a partnership today to enhance the structure and quality of leadership development and training.

MGSIPA is an Administrative Training Institute (ATI) at the Government of Punjab, engaged to impart quality training in various disciplines to officers and officials of the State Government and its Boards, as well as the undertaking of research studies.

Jaspreet Talwar, Principal Secretary of the Government of Punjab and Director of MGSIPA held a brainstorming session with Wu Wei Neng, Executive Director of CIG; Dr. Gyanendra Badgaiyan, Member of Board of Directors at CIG, other MGSIPA officers and CIG team members.

The meeting established several areas of cooperation, with a focus on setting up MGSIPA’s Leadership Development Centre. MGSIPA and CIG will collaborate on programme and curriculum design for the Centre, and identifying a pool of facilitators and experts to support its work.

Both organisations will also work together to improve the quality of research and training programmes by sharing knowledge, good practices and essential training skills.
