AAPAM and CIG Sign MOU to Collaborate on Capability Development in Africa

Joint Press Release between the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) and the Chandler Institute of Governance

‍SINGAPORE and NAIROBI (Kenya), 14 September 2022— The Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) and the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 14 September 2022, establishing a partnership between two organisations that share a commitment to improve national governance by promoting good practices and excellence in public administration.

Through this MOU, both organisations will commit to continual sharing of expertise, knowledge and information, with a view to deepening and broadening collaboration in the areas of training, research and knowledge exchange. In particular, both organisations envision a close partnership in the design and delivery of public sector capability development programmes and cross-sharing of experts and best practices to improve governance in Africa and around the world.

The MOU was signed by Dr George K. Scott, Secretary General, AAPAM; and Mr Kenneth Sim, Dean, Chandler Academy of Governance and Deputy Executive Director, CIG.

The AAPAM fraternity will stand to benefit from the joint programmes focusing on research, capacity building, exchange programmes and numerous opportunities which this MOU underscores.
